Switzerland’s wildest treasure hunt

Look out, treasure hunters: On July 6th, 2019, more than 300 treasures are waiting to be found in Bad Ragaz.

Right on time for the summer holidays, Bad Ragaz will make every treasure hunter’s dreams come true on Saturday, July 6th, 2019. On the Freudenberg ruin and along the Tamina river, there will be real gold to be found. There will also be hundreds of other treasures, prizes – and failures, too.

Finally, the cat is out of the bag. After weeks and weeks of mystery mongering, we now know when and where Bad Ragaz is calling out for the gold rush: Both the Schwattenfall along the course of the Tamina river and the ruin on the Freudenberg will see happy winners by the dozens. All adventurous treasure hunters check in at the Dorfbad at 9am sharp and decide between two possible routes. All participants will be equipped with the treasure hunter kit that will later be needed to claim their respective prizes. For gold diggers at Schwattenfall, there will be special bus rides leaving at the Dorfbad at 10.30am.

The Freudenberg treasure hunters will approach the bonanza on foot, taking a 10 minutes’ walk through the international spa resort of Bad Ragaz. At 11am, both treasure hunts will be opened simultaneously. And now, the race is on.

Both treasure hunts feature prizes of the same total, adding up to 20,000 Swiss francs. There are 300 golden cans to be found that contain bigger or smaller prizes in the form of a ticket. From noon on, those tickets can be redeemed for real prizes at the Dorfbad. Only those hunters equipped with their treasure hunter kit will be eligible to redeem their tickets.
