Exclusive event location for groups

Light Ragaz in the Tamina Gorge will run until October 21, 2023 – at the same time, preparations are underway for an offer in the winter months. In November and December 2023, Hotel Schloss Wartenstein can be booked for Christmas dinners.

The light spectacle in the Tamina Gorge has been open from Tuesday to Saturday from 6 p.m. since the beginning of July and will run until October 21, 2023. At the same time, those responsible at Light Ragaz have been examining various options for an event during the winter months from November 2023 to January 2024. In the past, the glow of lights has illuminated the village center of Bad Ragaz during the Christmas season – in the winter of 2021/22 even in combination with a gastronomic offer, concerts as well as a Christmas story via headphones. The event was always free of charge for guests and locals alike. Despite support contributions of around CHF 40,000 per year from the political community and local municipality of Bad Ragaz as well as other service providers and a combination with additional offers, which are chargeable for the visitors, the event format is not profitable. In the past, the deficit was borne by Light Ragaz AG.

No more glitter of lights in Bad Ragaz

However, the financial risk is no longer bearable for the young company and the renewed realization of an event in a similar framework would therefore only be possible with the financial support of additional sponsors. Various possibilities for financing were examined and discussed with the most important service providers in the village. However, no event format could be found that would meet the financial possibilities and at the same time have a sufficiently high attractiveness and appeal. Consequently, Light Ragaz AG regrets that it will not be able to hold the Lichterglanz again.

Fondue fun with a view

However, the company was able to find a new cooperation with the current owners of the Hotel Schloss Wartenstein. From November 2023, groups of 15 people or more will thus have the opportunity to book the unique location for their Christmas dinner in a cozy ambience and with a breathtaking view of Bad Ragaz and the region. Light Ragaz will not only take over the organization of the event, but will also take care of the physical well-being with a mulled wine aperitif in the light-filled park and cheese fondue in the Christmas-decorated hall.
