Bright spots for the whole family
Light Ragaz presented the Glow of Lights in Bad Ragaz from November 20, 2021 to January 1, 2022. A joint project that provided numerous rays of light. The next light spectacle awaits visitors on selected dates from May to June and daily from July 1 to October 15, 2022 in the Tamina Gorge.
With numerous highlights such as a Christmas story over headphones, the event program “Magic Friday” or the endless sea of lights in the spa gardens, the Lichterglanz in Bad Ragaz was able to enchant young and old, young and old. The light walk with 10 fascinating scenes illuminated the village during Advent and provided unforgettable glimpses of light.
The experience for the whole family
“The winter walk with its fascinating light art not only made children’s eyes light up,” Rosa Ilmer, Managing Director at Light Ragaz AG, looks back on the successful event. The organizers are grateful, despite the tense situation, the event could take place as planned and provide small and larger rays of hope in a challenging time. “A particular highlight was the Christmas story over headphones,” Ilmer said. The novel concept had caused some initial skepticism, but surprised and delighted the audience. The hearts of the visitors were also touched by the “Wishing Place” – the wishes of the almost 700 Ragaz schoolchildren were projected onto the façade of the Löwen Inn. “Of course, some of them also caused a laugh,” Ilmer smiles.
Event program with regional artists
In addition to the winter walk, the “Magic Friday” event program provided entertainment on four evenings and turned the historic village pool hall into a stage for regional artists. Thanks to the support of the Tamina Therme, the Pizolbahnen, the Hotel Schloss Ragaz as well as the post bus company Karl Gessinger AG, all events with a children’s program and music were free of charge. “We think the event series has potential – we will keep the concept in 2022,” Rosa Ilmer is pleased. It is already certain that the Lichterglanz will return to Bad Ragaz on November 19, 2022. Numerous feedbacks have been received and everything will be done to further develop the event. The basic idea of a community project is to be retained. The Light Walk was once again free of charge this winter thanks to the generous support of the political municipality and the local community of Bad Ragaz, the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, Bad Ragaz Tourism, the Gewerbeverein Bad Ragaz, the St. Galler Kantonalbank, the Casino Förderstiftung and numerous other supporters. “We greatly appreciate this commitment and thank them for their trust,” Ilmer said.
Light Ragaz returns
The next light spectacle is not long in coming, however. Light Ragaz returns to Tamina Gorge from July 1 to October 15, 2022. Those who cannot wait that long already have the unique opportunity to visit the light show on selected dates in May and June. The advance sale starts at the beginning of February 2022. All information about the new show will be available on our website from the end of January.
